Arlene's Story

 

My name is Arlene Olsen.  My husband, Kelly, is one of the founders of Tahitian Noni International, the company that brought TAHITIAN NONI® Juice to the world.  I have been an enthusiastic drinker of TAHITIAN NONI® Juice since 1996.  I don’t go a day without it.  This is where my recent discovery and story begins.

 

I have always been health conscious; I try to eat right, and I exercise regularly.  But over the past few years, my weight started creeping up a bit.  So I investigated different weight loss programs and increased my time at the gym to 5 or 6 hours a week.  But I still wasn’t losing weight!  Then I started reading information about women my age, and I began to understand that programs that may work well for men or younger people lack the ingredients mid-aged women need.  Women my age are dealing with so much change.  I experience mood swings, cravings, and all the issues of pre-menopause.  It’s crazy!  But at the same time, I have not lost my zest for life.

 

So I decided to find a program that would work for me.  After some research, I created a custom program using several TAHITIAN NONI® products and a few additional products.  The program was basically based on these principles:

 

• A regular whole-system cleanse
• Proper supplementation to control cravings
• Wise eating, but not deprivation
• Proper supplementation to build strong body systems and support an active lifestyle
• A practical, natural approach to balancing hormone levels to ease the effects of pre-menopause

 

Within 3 months, I had lost over 20 pounds, 2 dress sizes, and 2 pant sizes—and I was still losing!  I had gone from a size 16 to a 12.  I can’t tell you how excited I was to get rid of those size 16 clothes!

 

Kelly got excited about my system and made it a major product line of Tahitian Noni International.  The research and development team took my rough ideas, did extensive research, and created products that are fantastic.  It’s called Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™.

 

Maintenance has been the true miracle in this program.  I have been on Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ for 8 months now, and I have lost over 40 pounds and wear a size 8.  I am living proof that this program works.  I live it every day.  I don’t feel deprived.  I eat out.  I go to dinners.  I live a normal life!  Most of all, I feel good about myself—I feel more attractive, more healthy, more feminine.  It’s about time a company had the vision to create a program just for me and for every other woman like me.   (Individual Results May Vary)

TAHITIAN NONI® Juice and Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ work together perfectly! The juice is interwoven with the program and is essential. I have been an avid drinker of TAHITIAN NONI Juice since the company first began; in fact, I explained on the original testimonial tape how well it works for me.

 

When I first started Plan 40™, I began increasing the amount of TAHITIAN NONI® Juice I drank each day. Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ absolutely helps people feel better-and I think the best way to introduce this program is simply to be real and tell your story. Women love to talk to each other about weight. If you have lost weight with Plan 40™, you can tell them about that, as well as how great it's made you feel. If you personally haven't needed to lose weight, you can use the soon-to-be-released audiotape where I talk to other women about their successes and experiences-it is powerful. Just share the stories and then watch the conversation snowball. Women relate to other women, and there are plenty out there who are having success.

Protein Shakes

How many shakes do you drink a day? Do you add the fiber to your shake? I really enjoy the shakes but I haven't lost any weight.

Thanks for the great question. One suggestion I have is to make sure you drink plenty of water. When you are getting more water than you are used to, you may not notice any weight loss, sometimes even a weight gain at first, but if you did the cleanse, you should have lost on the cleanse.

 

I only drink one shake a day, and that is in the morning with either skim milk or low-fat soy milk. Sometimes I do a scoop of Tahiti Trim® Soy Protein Shake mix with a scoop of Tahiti Trim® Complete Protein, sometimes I have just two scoops of Tahiti Trim® Soy Protein with one scoop of Tahiti Trim® Fiber Complex. I do that because I want to make sure I get enough fiber during the day. I also have one serving of fruit at the same meal.

 

When you really get going on the program, if you still are staying the same weight, do the cleanse again. Lots of luck, and let me know your progress.

Appetite Suppressant

Can I safely take more than one Tahiti Trim® Appetite Suppressant 1/2 hour before meals? I'm still hungry!

Yes, you can safely take more than one Tahiti Trim® Appetite Suppressant before each meal. Some days I have two before breakfast, sometimes I don't have any before lunch, and then two more before dinner, it just depends how hungry I get. I have noticed no ill effects from doing it this way. Just pay attention to how you feel and you'll find a routine that works best for you. Good luck, and let me know how you do.

My Personal Program

 

So many people ask how I personally use the program, so here it is step by step...

Get Started with a Tahiti Trim®Cleanse
If you are just beginning, the most important thing you can do for your body is to go on the three-day cleanse. Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ Cleanse Beverage is such a great product!  Drink it twice a day and eat all the lean protein and fresh green vegetables you want.  No carbohydrates during the cleanse.  Take all the Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ Supplements and Tahiti Appetite Suppressant according to the label instructions. You won't feel hungry and you will immediately notice a difference.  I lost 6 pounds during my first cleanse.  I realized that it was probably water weight, but it got me started and I made a decision that I wasn't going to gain it back.


When you are on the three-day cleanse, don't eat breads or breaded foods, nothing deep fried.  Only lean meats, excluding luncheon meats, such as bologna.  With your green vegetables, have a light vinaigrette salad dressing also, if you wish.  Try to eat at least five times a day during those three days.  You should not starve or fast.  I like to keep baggies of cut-up chicken or turkey and sliced zucchini to munch on in the car while I was run errands.

 

Tahiti Trim® Cleanse Beverage: the Plateau Breaker
As I mentioned before, one of the big challenges women face when they are getting into shape is that they begin great and at some point hit a plateau where the weight loss slows.  Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ has a built-in plateau breaker. It is the Cleanse Beverage.

 

When I feel myself getting on a plateau, or if I want to jump start my program, I do a three-day cleanse.  It is simple.  I drink the Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ Cleanse Beverage 2 times a day for three days, and during that time I refrain from carbohydrates and eat all the protein and fresh vegetables I care to.  Anyone can do this easily and not feel deprived.  After the three-day cleanse, I go back to my normal routine and always feel invigorated and back on track.  The Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ program is designed to allow for a cleanse every month.  Sometimes I do a two-day or even a quick one-day cleanse, but I'm telling you, nothing breaks a plateau better or gets us back on track better than that.

 

This is the program that I discovered.  I'm not a scientist or a doctor.  I'm just like every other woman.  I read a lot and wanted to find out some answers.  I found that the answers are out there, I just had to dedicate myself to finding them.   Now, it is so much easier with Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™.  It is all complete and ready for you.  I feel like I have a new mission to encourage women to discover what I found.  I am so proud of Tahitian Noni International for championing the cause of women's health issues and being courageous and visionary enough to introduce this great program.

 

Water/Exercise
I start every morning with a full glass of water.  Then I have another glass with all my Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ Supplements in the Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ Basics Pack.  That gives me a jump start on the day's supply.  I drink at least six 8-ounce glasses a day with an extra glass for each hour of exercise.  I go to the gym about five times a week.

 

TAHITIAN NONI® Juice
One note on TAHITIAN NONI Juice: when I first began my program, I began drinking 2 ounces, three times a day. I believe it made a tremendous difference.

 

Tahiti Trim® Body Balance Cream
Please don't forget the Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ Body Balance Cream.  I always put it on morning and night.  I wouldn't go a day without it!  There is only a small sample in the Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ Basics Pack, but you need to use it morning and night except during your period, then get right back on it.  It will help reduce your cravings for sugar and help balance out your mood swings.  It is very important.

 

Meals
I have a Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ Protein Shake with fruit for breakfast, a Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ Complete Protein Bar in the afternoon, and I usually ate a salad at lunch, but there are actually many different choices for this meal.  I just happen to be a salad person.  I also have a carbohydrate like bread or pasta at lunch time.  I have a sensible dinner every night that consists of some grilled protein, vegetables, and one carbohydrate, like a half of a baked potato or something similar to that.  That is my day.  Also, I eat whole grains (whole wheat bread, brown rice, etc.) whenever possible.  It's that simple!  I haven't experienced major cravings as I did before.  Sometimes I have a little dessert after my evening meal.  I watch my portions, and I stop there.  It has become a way of life for me, and it has made me feel so much better.

 

Tahiti Trim® Appetite Suppressant
Sometimes I take two before each meal, sometimes only two in the morning, and no more during the day, it just depends on how I feel.  If I'm really hungry at night, I take two at night, and they have never make me jittery, sleepless, or moody. The only side effect is that I can make better food choices!

 

Tahiti Trim® Soy Protein Drink and Tahiti Trim® Complete Shake
I only have one shake a day, in the morning.  I mix 6 ounces of milk (skim or soy, not greater than 1%) and 6 ounces of water.  Then I put in one scoop of Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ Soy Protein Drink and one scoop of Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ Complete Shake, or I do two scoops of Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ Soy Protein Drink and one scoop of Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ Fiber Complex.  I take that with some fresh fruit.

 

Tahiti Trim® Complete Bar
I only have one Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ Complete Protein Bar a day, usually about 4 p.m.

Blood Sugar

 

Dear Arlene,

 

I remember one day when I was signing books, we briefly spoke about nutrition and metabolism.  During your interesting talk on February 3, 2003 you mentioned that women on Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ showed improvement in many different ways. You speculated that blood sugar might be a factor. One of the things you said that the plan might help was memory.

Did you know that just the day before, on February 2, 2003, Dr. Antonio Convit, NYU Psychiatry researcher & professor, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science data to support what you said?

 

He studied 30 non-diabetic people over 40, and using MRI scans, found that after a meal, those people who metabolized sugar slower had more sugar in their blood but less sugar available for brain fuel. This was particularly true for the brain hippocampus, which is responsible for recent memory. Some had a shrinkage of that region of the brain and experienced decreased recent recall.

 

From studying the data, I estimate that over 18 million American women over 40 have this condition. I believe that these women have abnormal glucose metabolism, which is probably reversible. Plan 40 could be one of the answers.
