For
centuries, native Polynesians have known that there is
something special about this simple fruit they call "noni". And they did not
need any scientific research to know that it was beneficial to the body in many

pineapple enzymes led to the discovery of an important alkaloid

Dr. Heinicke
named this alkaloid "Xeronine" (pronounced zero-neen). He
named the pre-cursor to Xeronine, Proxeronine, and the enzyme
Proxeroninase. While Xeronine occurs naturally in all plants
and animals, it requires Proxeronine as part of the process.
When Proxeronine is consumed, it combines with an enzyme called
Proxeroninase in the intestine and the result if Xeronine.
According to Dr.
Heinicke, when proteins combine with Xeronine, the combination
becomes a powerful tools that produces energy and sends chemical
signals between cells for proper healthy cell growth and
maintenance. However,
Proxeronine has become less available due to depleted soils,
over-processing of foods, and unhealthy diets. Many of the
important micronutrients needed for the biosynthesis of Xeronine in
the body have been lost. This is where Morinda citrifolia
caught his interest. Of all the substances he tested, it had
the highest levels of Proxeronine.
Dr. Heinicke's
findings intrigued him and prompted him to conduct further studies
on this unique fruit. However, it wasn't until 1972 that Dr.
Heinicke discovered specific compounds in the Morinda citrifolia
fruit that could have an impact on the body.
